On June 15, 2016, Rebuilding Together Atlanta repaired the home of Ms. Emma Robinson, an 89-year-old World War II widow. Emma and her husband had 9 children together and when he passed away 45 years ago she raised the last 4 as a single mother.
Living with limited income and raising a large family on her own didn’t allow her to keep up with repairs in her home of 55 years. Some of the repairs volunteers performed included replacing the front steps and adding a handrail to both the front and back stairs, installing a grab bar and new flooring in the bathroom, painting the exterior and installing a French drain in the front yard.
When asked to describe the repairs in one word, Ms. Emma said “beautiful!” We’re all so thankful to Archer Western!
