We accept vehicles in most – but not all - conditions. Vehicles can be either running or non-running.

Vehicle donations are 100% tax deductible.

It’s simple! Call (866) 829-2918 or fill out the web form and we'll take care of the rest, including pick-up, at no cost to you.

Once your vehicle has been sold, you'll receive a receipt for your tax records, and the sale proceeds will be donated to RTA in your name.

Vehicle Donation FAQs

1. What are the tax benefits of donating my vehicle?

When you donate your vehicle, you may deduct the fair market value up to $500. If your vehicle sells for

more than $500, you may deduct the full selling price. After the vehicle is sold, you will receive a letter to

be used for tax purposes.

2. Explain the donation process.

The process is simple:

▪ We mail you your tax deduction information.

3. How long does it take to donate my vehicle online/by phone?

It takes less 5-minutes to complete your donation online or by phone. Just be sure to know your vehicle’s

year, make, model, and where the vehicle is located.

4. When will my vehicle be picked up?

We will arrange for your vehicle to be picked-up (for free) usually within 1-2 business days at a time that is

convenient for you. We always call you 1-hour before to confirm pick-up.We are able to pick up donated vehicles usually within 1-2 business days – at a time and place convenient for the donor. Same-day pickup can sometimes be arranged. Pickup and towing is always free for the donor.

5. What are the benefits of donating a vehicle to RTA?

It's easy, free, and secure! We convert vehicles into cash, which becomes a welcome donation to RTA. Your gift may qualify for a tax deduction, and you can avoid the cost and hassle of repairing or selling a car you no longer want.

6.Are there any costs?

No. There is no cost to the donor.

7. What types of vehicles do you accept?

All vehicles are considered. We strive to accept all types of donated vehicles, running or not, including cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, motorcycles, campers, off-road vehicles, planes, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and most other motorized vehicles. 8. Does my car have to be registered?

This varies from state to state. Each Vehicle Donor Service Representative is equipped with a 50-state guide for the steps necessary in each state and will advise you during the donation process.

9) My car doesn't run or hasn't been used in years. Can I still donate it?

Yes! We can accept most vehicles, whether they are running or not. However, it must be in one piece and towable, have an engine, and be accessible by a tow truck. 10) Where do I sign my title?

It varies, so please wait to mark the title until after you have discussed it with the vendor picking up your vehicle, as they are experts in your local area. If you have questions, you can call our toll-free number (866) 829-2918 to speak to a representative.

11) Can you pick up vehicles in all 50 states?

Yes! Our vehicle donation program can provide quick and convenient vehicle pick-up and towing just about anywhere in all 50 states. We provide vehicle donation processing in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia without limitation.

12)How will my vehicle be picked up?

Once you have provided us with all necessary information via the online vehicle donation form or over the phone with one of our Vehicle Donor Support Representatives, we will arrange to have a licensed tow company pick up your vehicle at a time convenient for you. The vehicle will be picked up and taken to one of our many sale locations – all at no cost to you.

13) Who operates the RTA Vehicle Donation Program?

National Charity Services, Inc  runs the RTA Vehicle Donation Program. NCS serves nonprofits that vary in  mission, size, scope, and location – from national household names to one-person led local charities.  NCS operates nationally and process vehicle donations in all 50 states. NCS  follows governmental compliance with all IRS and state regulations concerning vehicle donation programs, fundraising registrations, and charitable receipting requirements throughout all 50 states and Canada.

NCS  has also maintained an A+ Better Business Bureau rating for over ten years.
